COREN (U)  target groups  as mentioned have different services offered to them through  the project.

They are involved in various projects depending on the category of people.

 our course of volunteering we have;

 ORPHANS AND OTHER VULNERABLE CHILDREN.

An Orphan is a person below the age of 18 years who have lost one or both parents.

VULNERABLE CHILD

A vulnerable child is a person below the age of 18living in a situation that exposes him or her to a significant physical, emotional or mental harm such as;

  1.  Child-headed household
  2.  Street children.
  3.  Child affected by a conflict, war or natural disaster.
  4.  Child with psychosocial physical vulnerability.
  5.  Abandoned child.
  6.  School-Dropout.
  7.  Mistreated Kids.

All our services start from values of love, care and compassion.

This network however does the following;

  1.  Helps Ugandan communities to achieve the vision of society where all community members live to their full potential and their rights protected.
  2.  The Network has its guidelines principle, which helps us to plan, design and implement services of the orphans and other vulnerable.
  3.  The organization promotes care giving by the family and the house hold.
  4.  Give priority to children by Providing  them with support & fairy to both boys and girls.
  5.  To respect orphans and OVcs children by providing opportunity to their meaningful participation in programme decision.o To promote community acceptance and support for orphans and OVCs
  6.  To link the services for vulnerable children and house hold to make them integrated and hostilic.
  7.  To bring back smile on their faces.
  8.  The organization is meant to design activities to match the needs of orphans and other vulnerable children.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

  1. Identify key challenges faced by children, single parents, and adults in the society.
  2. Establish peculiar potentials that each community can exploit to attain social economic       development.
  3. To explore the most efficient and the identified potentials to improve social economic status of communities.
  4. To strengthen community participation in social economic development by enhances access to civil lights, health development information by beneficiary community.
  5. Exploring policy options that are delivered from the mechanism / ways / methods of overcoming the identified challenges and potentials.

EXPECTED OUT PUT AND ACTIVITIES OUT PUTS

  1. Consultative meetings will be held with local councils, community members, opinion      leaders and other CBOs in project areas.
  2. Surveys conducted to identify the challenges finding documented.ACTIVITIES
  3. Social mobolisation at all levels: local council, district, county, and sub county and village plus community mobolisation.
  4. Hold meeting with CBOs to identify key challenges faced by the community they serve. To establish also between working relation ship of COREN and other organisation.
  5. Hold meetings with community groups, local leaders and opinion leaders to identify key challenges.
  6. Hold discussions with individuals and specific groups i.e. women groups, youth group and kids abductees.
  7. Dissemination of research finding to stake holders (funders, district leaders and community.

MONITORING AND EVALUATION

  • Learning from the previous implementation year and accordingly adjust plans for the next year.
  • Mid term and end of project evaluation will access the out come and impacts of the project, these project evaluations however, will be carried out jointly with Community relief Network Uganda  and beneficiaries.
  • The evaluation will be carried out with assistance of external consultants but with emphasis on our approach on community and beneficiaries.

 

 LIST OF COREN (U) PROGRAMMES FOR THE OVC SUPPORT

 

Social and economic activities.

  1. The network tries to help these needy to have enough resources to meet basic needs through networking such as shelter, nutrition and school costs.
  2. Urgent Care and support.
  3. The Networking organization helps the children to meet basic needs such as food shelter, clothing in emergency situation.
  4. Education.
  5. The network will help the children with formal education or vocation training, homebased career development educational and internship programmes.
  6. Children protection and legal support In this case we help the children and the community to understand their rights and give them access to legal support and assistance through networking.We offer bursaries needy students, look for sponsors and also networking for scholarships, individual sponsors and grants to see that they excel towards the world of education.
  7. The network monitoring systems will be build up on the reporting system developed by the organization during the planning process.
  8. Monitoring and evaluation will also be based on smart indicators built in logic framework of the project.
  9. Number of report system will be put in place including annual plan, internal staff reports and minutes of regular meetings to review progress, problems and feature activities, use of computerized database to track implementation of project activities, six months technical and financial reporting system.
  10. Annual general meeting will be held by Community Relief Network Uganda to reflect on lessons.
